The company is headquartered in Hsinchu, Taiwan and sells two-wheeled vehicles under the SYM brand name. Sanyang's three main manufacturing bases are located in Taiwan, China and Vietnam.

The company is engaged in the manufacture and sale of scooters, motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles under the brand name SYM, and also produces cars and mini-trucks under the brand name Hyundai. Since its founding, the company has produced more than 800 thousand cars and 16 million scooters and motorcycles. The annual sales revenue of the company exceeds 1 billion US dollars; the company produces about 600,000 units of motorcycles and 20,000 cars per year. The Taiwan SYM manufacturing plant currently employs about 2,300 people.
