In 1909, the young motorcycle racer Giuseppe Gilera created a corporation called Moto Gilera.

From the very beginning, the company was engaged in the modification of motorcycles, and later their successful construction from scratch.

The debut model was a motorcycle that was equipped with a motor of 317 cubic centimeters.

The next model was equipped with a 500 cc four-stroke engine. But the most successful creation of the company is the release of racing motorcycles.

In 1936, Giuseppe makes a motorcycle with a Rondine engine and makes it more perfect. Thanks to this, Gilera gets the title of high-speed bike with a 500 cc engine. The success of the famous motorcycle is so great that it brings not only victory in the competition, but also a good profit for the company.

Thanks to Giuseppe's outstanding abilities, the long-awaited Saturno-500 motorcycle model appeared in 1939, which was previously included in the “book of motorcycle fame”.

In 1980, the company made a presentation of a four-stroke engine with a volume of 600 cc. A motorcycle equipped with this engine twice won the famous Paris-Dakar rally!
